Caitlin Hunt's Violin Studio

Caitlin began playing violin at age 5 under the instruction of Suzuki teacher, Annette Pelled.  In high school, she studied under the National Symphony Orchestra's Edwin Johonnott  She went on to receive a degree in Music Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.  She also received Suzuki Teacher Training from the Greater Washington Suzuki Institute under Rhonda Cole, Edmund Sprunger, and Linda Fiore.  Caitlin began teaching violin privately while in college, and has been building her studio for the past 15+ years.  She has had many other teaching experiences with Chesterfield County Public Schools, Hanover County Public Schools, St. Bridget's School, and Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts.

While Caitlin's current focus is on teaching more than performing, she has a rich performance background and continues to record and perform when she has time. She has played with several chamber groups in Richmond and continues to freelance for special events and weddings.  In past years, she was a first violinist for the Richmond Philharmonic Orchestra. She has had the opportunity to perform, record, and/or tour with other music groups including Tim Barry, Josh Small, Chuck Ragan, Avail, Robbie Huddleston, and Spacebomb Records.

When she's not teaching, Caitlin spends her time with her husband, Joe and their daughters, Grace Anne and Josie.
